IBM Watson Announces $2.6B Acquisition Plans for Truven Health Analytics

IBM Watson Health is set to acquire Truven Health Analytics for its value-based care solutions, making Truven Health IBM’s fourth major health information related acquisition over the past year.  The $2.6 Billion Dollar deal will further expand IBM Watson Health’s considerable presence in the healthcare industry, as well as over 8,500 clients in the U.S.

IBM’s health cloud is now set to be the largest and most diverse health data collection service in the world with approximately 300 million patients acquired from its collective acquisitions.

Keynotes from IBM Watson Health’s General Manager, Deborah DiSanzo include building the company’s value-based care environment on a global scale through Truven’s impressive team, expansive data sets, and extensive client roster.
